The camps of boxers Nathan Cleverly and Tony Bellew had to separated by police after an incident at a press conference in Cardiff.
Cleverly's father Vince, who is also his son's coach, was reportedly involved in a row with a member of Bellew's entourage while the two fighters were having interviews.
Cleverly, the WBO light-heavyweight champion, said: "You'd expect this sort of stuff to happen at an American press conference with Floyd Mayweather's dad or something, but not in Cardiff.
"Bellew could cause trouble in an empty room, but he's got a whole lot of trouble with me on October 15 now."
The pair almost came to blows at another press conference in May.
Bellew, the Commonwealth and British title holder, added: "My team were behaving themselves, it seems to me that Cleverly's dad was trying to rattle us ahead of the fight.
"It was all sorted out calmly and I finished my interviews and we all drove back to Liverpool."
The pair meet at Liverpool's Echo Arena on Saturday, October 15.
