WBO world lightweight champion Ricky Burns has gone under the knife to have surgery on his broken jaw.
The 30-year-old Scot suffered the injury in the second round of last night's draw with Raymundo Beltran, which saw Burns retain his title.
Promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed on Twitter: "Ricky is now in surgery to have a titanium plate in his jaw."
Burns, who has hinted that he will offer Beltran a rematch, will have a metal plate fitted.
