Cricket Australia have announced that batsman David Warner has been suspended until the first Ashes Test in July.
The 26-year-old attended a disciplinary hearing with the governing body via a video link this morning for breaching the Code of Behaviour following an incident involving England batsman Joe Root.
Warner admitted to throwing a punch at Root during a night out in the Walkabout bar in Birmingham after England's victory over the Aussies at Edgbaston in the ICC Champions Trophy group game last Saturday.
A statement from CA said: "[Warner is] suspended from the remainder of Australia's ICC Champions Trophy campaign as well as the Australian team's two tour matches before the first Ashes Test against Somerset and Worcestershire. Warner will be eligible for selection for the first Test."
The batsman, who was previously punished for getting involved in a Twitter spat with Australian journalists, has also been fined £7,000 for his role in the incident.
