Essex head coach Paul Grayson has stated that pace bowler Tymal Mills is not ready for a call-up to the England Test side.
The 21-year-old was drafted into England's Ashes training camp to provide practice for the batsmen against left-arm bowling, after spending time with the Performance squad in Australia.
Mills has been tipped for a Test call following England's 5-0 Ashes series defeat to the Australians.
"He's exciting, he's raw and we know he's got genuine pace," Grayson told BBC Essex.
"But he needs to play more cricket. We know that's our responsibility and something we'll work on."
Mills took 11 wickets at an average of 43.36 in first-class cricket last season.
