The England and Wales Cricket Board have announced that Nottinghamshire's director of cricket Mick Newell has become a selector on the panel.
Newell, who spoke to the ECB about potentially taking over as England coach, has replaced Ashley Giles in the four-man panel.
Giles, who lost out on securing the permanent coaching role to Peter Moores, has opted to step down from his role.
"It's a tremendous privilege and a great honour to be invited to join the England selection panel," said Newell. "I would also like to thank Nottinghamshire CCC for their support in allowing me to take on this role and play a part in shaping the future direction of the England team."
Newell will work alongside national selector James Whitaker, head coach Moores and Angus Fraser.
