Brisbane Heat head coach Stuart Law has confirmed speculation that he has held discussions with Andrew Flintoff about him playing in this year's Big Bash League.
A report yesterday afternoon claimed that the former England all-rounder, who came out of retirement in May to play in the T20 Blast with the Lancashire Lightning, had started to explore the possibility of linking up with the Heat.
Speaking about that rumour, Law has revealed that 36-year-old Flintoff could finalise his move as early as next week.
"We've had discussions with Freddie and if things go well, hopefully we will be able to confirm next week that he will play some part in the Big Bash for us," Law told the Manchester Evening News.
"I have spoken to Fred and made it clear that this is not a holiday, but he told me cricket is number one for him, and that it is not about collecting cash, it's about winning trophies."
The Big Bash League gets underway in December.
