Rajasthan Royals powered themselves to a convincing eight-wicket victory over the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League this afternoon.
Shane Watson and Ajinkya Rahane produced a franchise-record opening stand of 144 to set the tone, with the former smashing 73 off 47 balls in what was his first match since recovering from a hip injury.
Rahane went on unbeaten, racking up six fours and two sixes to help chase down the target of 157 set by the Super Kings in Ahmedabad.
Ravindra Jadeja finally sent Watson packing in the 17th over, but the damage had already been done.
Dwayne Bravo and captain MS Dhoni were the driving force behind Chennai's effort, finishing unbeaten on 62 and 31 respectively, but Suresh Raina (4) and Faf du Plessis (1) were caught in successive overs after Dwayne Smith mustered up 40 during his time at the crease.
The Royals had little trouble reaching their target with 10 balls still remaining, making it five games unbeaten now in the competition.
