Ex-England cricketer Kevin Pietersen has said that he is willing to work with Test captain Alastair Cook again, if he earns a recall for the national side.
Pietersen hasn't played for England since The Ashes in 2013-14, as he was sacked shortly after by the England and Wales Cricket Board as a result of a major fall-out with key personnel on and off the pitch.
The middle-order batsman released a book in October detailing what he felt went went wrong on the Ashes tour, and he criticised Cook for the way he handled the sacking. However, incoming chairman Colin Graves has told Pietersen that he is available for selection as long as he proves his worth in county cricket.
He told The Telegraph: "A lot has been said about my book, but my side of the story had to come out. To make it clear, I never had any issues with Alastair Cook. I said in my book that I was disappointed he could not look me in the eye during that meeting but there is no issue with me.
"He is a nice guy. He is one of England's greatest ever cricketers. He has 25 Test hundreds. Of course I can play with Alastair again."
Pietersen will play county cricket for Surrey this season.
