Jason Kenny: 'Strange getting medal from Sir Chris Hoy'

English cyclist Jason Kenny admits that it was "strange" to be awarded his Commonwealth Games silver medal by former GB teammate Sir Chis Hoy today.

Team England rider Jason Kenny has admitted that it was "strange" to be handed his silver medal by former teammate Sir Chris Hoy today.

Kenny missed out on gold to New Zealand's Sam Webster in the individual sprint event and was awarded his second medal of the Commonwealth Games by Hoy, whose name graces the velodrome in which the action took place.

The duo were teammates for the 2012 Olympics in London, but Kenny revealed that it was the first time he had seen Hoy at the Glasgow Games.

"It was really strange seeing him. That's the first time I've bumped into him at the Games, considering we're in his own track," Kenny told reporters.

"He's the busiest man in the world so we don't see much of him these days! But it was nice to catch up with him again briefly."

Kenny and Hoy won the team sprint gold together at the Olympics two years ago.
