Italy's Diego Ulissi has been suspended by his Lampre team for a second time following his failed dope test at this summer's Giro d'Italia.
Ulissi was suspended in June after he tested positive for the bronchodilator salbutamol on the Tour of Italy, where he won two stages.
However, Lampre were not contacted by the International Cycling Union (UCI) and so authorised Ulissi to ride at the Coppa Bernocchi this week.
Now Swiss Cycling, where the Switzerland-based Ulissi had a licence, have announced that they have opened disciplinary proceedings against the rider, forcing Lampre to once again suspend the 25-year-old.
If found guilty, Ulissi could face a two-year ban from cycling.
