Gerwyn Price has remained in top spot of the PDC Order of Merit by beating Peter Wright to win the International Darts Open title.
Earlier in the day, Wright moved himself into a position where he would become world number one for the first time if Price failed to secure victory in Riesa.
Featuring in opposite sides of the draw, the pair would reach the final with Price defeating Danny Noppert and Nathan Aspinall, and Wright overcoming Michael Smith and Johnny Clayton.
The opening four legs of a high-quality showdown were shared but once Price moved into a 4-2 lead, the Welshman managed to hold off the challenge of the recently-crowned world champion.
Both players averaged just below 107, but Price hit eight of his nine double attempts in the final, proving enough to claim his third triumph in this tournament by an 8-4 scoreline.
Wright's next chance to overtake Price will come at next week's UK Open.
