Michael Smith has targeted winning the PDC World Championship after recording a surprise 4-3 victory over defending champion Phil Taylor on Friday evening.
The number 32 seed capped off a remarkable performance with a 128 checkout to beat the 16-time winner, and the PDC world youth champion has admitted that he was speechless after earning a place in the third round.
The 23-year-old told PDC.TV: "I'm lost for words. Nobody expected me to win and I had no pressure on me tonight, but I showed that I've got fight in me, I've got tenacity and I proved that I can play darts on television.
"I've beaten the best player in the world and my aim now is to put my name on this trophy, and I'm confident that I can win this tournament now."
Smith will now play Peter Wright for a place in the quarter-finals.
