Michael van Gerwen has admitted that he is eager to complete his PDC Major collection by winning the Grand Slam of Darts.
The cross-code event in Wolverhampton is the only high-profile event that Van Gerwen has not won in the PDC, and the world number one has revealed that he is driven to try to achieve dominance in the sport.
The 26-year-old told PDC.TV: "I remind myself every day of the week, don't worry about that. I always want to look to perfection, and perfection is trying to win everything and make sure you use your energy at the right times.
"Every tournament drives me on, because I'm a winner and I don't like to lose. I'm really pleased with how everything's going at the moment and I'm looking forward to the Grand Slam."
Van Gerwen's best result at the Grand Slam is finishing runner-up to Raymond van Barneveld in 2012.
