Kaka suffers thigh injury, wants wages stopped

Kaka asks AC Milan to suspend his salary while he undergoes rehabilitation on a thigh injury, which will keep him out for around a month.

AC Milan midfielder Kaka has asked for his wages to be cancelled until he has made a full recovery from a thigh strain.

Kaka suffered the thigh problem on his second debut for Milan in last weekend's 2-2 draw at Torino, which is expected to keep him sidelined for around a month.

The Brazilian playmaker sent a video message out earlier today in which revealed that he has asked Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani to suspend his salary while he focuses on rehabilitation.

He said: "You have probably read about my injury on the Milan website. Yesterday was a bad day for me because in all honesty I was not expecting an injury like this. It was really bad and difficult for me.

"I have spoken at length with the club, with Galliani and with the doctors to decide on a few things. In the end I decided that I don't want anything from Milan except for love and support until I am better, until I am fully fit and ready to play again.

"For this reason, I have decided to suspend my current pay for this period of time. The only thing I ask is for support and help to recover properly."

Milan will begin their Champions League campaign without the 31-year-old on Wednesday night against Celtic at the San Siro.
