Arsenal youngster Ainsley Maitland-Niles says that Premier League football is starting to be played like basketball after the Gunners and Liverpool played out a 3-3 draw.

Arsenal youngster Ainsley Maitland-Niles has said that the Gunners are unhappy with their 3-3 draw with Liverpool, despite overturning a two-goal deficit at the Emirates Stadium.

Three goals in five second-half minutes gave the Gunners the lead on Friday night before Roberto Firmino earned a point for the Merseyside giants from an enthralling clash in North London.

After the game, Maitland-Niles claimed that Premier League football has started to be played like basketball after five goals were netted in just 19 minutes.

The 20-year-old told BBC Sport: "English football has changed, there are a lot of counter-attacking teams now, it's like basketball.

"I did OK, there are things to work on but I am getting there slowly. We are not happy, we should have won the game. When you are ahead there is no reason to drop points."

Liverpool and Arsenal remain in fourth and fifth place respectively in the top-flight standings.
