Arsenal are reportedly ready to offer a new contract to midfielder Mohamed Elneny, who has become increasingly involved in Arsene Wenger's plans this season.

Arsenal have reportedly decided to offer a new contract to midfielder Mohamed Elneny.

Elneny has been with the Gunners since January 2016, but the Egyptian international has made just 24 starts in the Premier League, with a further 23 coming in all competitions.

Arsenal have previously been open to offers for the 25-year-old but according to The Mirror, the North Londoners could now offer Elneny the opportunity to extend his deal, which still has over two years to run.

Elneny remains a backup option to Arsene Wenger but with the uncertainty surrounding the futures of Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey, Arsenal appear to want to strengthen their position regarding their other players in the centre of the park.

During the current campaign, Elneny has made 19 starts and six substitute outings, with the player featuring in all 10 of Arsenal's matches in the Europa League.
