Everton boss Roberto Martinez insists that Marouane Fellaini is staying at the club despite reported interest from Arsenal.

New Everton boss Roberto Martinez has insisted that Marouane Fellaini will be staying at the club.

The Belgian midfielder has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park, with Arsenal reportedly interested.

His manager, though, has said that his future is not an issue and that he will be staying with the Toffees.

"I don't think it is an issue," Martinez told The Sun when asked about Fellaini's future. "You are not talking about a player who is out of contract or in negotiations with another club.

"I won't be looking to speak to him because there is nothing to speak about. What I want is him to be ready for next season, to be ready to take on an important role at the club and understand that it is a big season for him.

"As an individual, he has got an exciting year in front of him and I don't think he is thinking 'Am I going to be here?', I don't think that's in his head."

Fellaini scored for Belgium this weekend, putting his side in pole position to qualify for next year's World Cup finals.
