Luciano Vietto undergoes appendix operation

Atletico Madrid forward Luciano Vietto is forced to undergo an operation after investigations showed that he was suffering from appendicitis.

Atletico Madrid forward Luciano Vietto is expected to be out of action for the next month after being forced to undergo an appendix operation at the end of last week.

The Argentine netted his first Atletico goal in the 1-1 draw with Real Madrid at the start of the month, but is unlikely to appear again for the capital side until November.

According to AS, Atletico initially thought that the 21-year-old was suffering from a stomach illness, but he underwent the knife after investigations showed that the problem was appendicitis.

Vietto moved to Atletico from Villarreal in the summer transfer window after hitting 20 goals for the Yellow Submarine in the 2014-15 season.
