Yaya Toure seemingly offers his services to Barcelona on social media, despite having not played professionally for two years.

Yaya Toure has revealed that he would jump at an opportunity to return to Barcelona in the foreseeable future.

Having not played competitively since representing Qingdao Huanghai in the Chinese second tier, Toure has since spent time as assistant manager at Olimpik Donetsk and Akhmat Grozny.

The 38-year-old remains at the latter of those clubs, but it has not stopped the former Barcelona midfielder taking to social media to offer his services.

Toure said: "My time at Barcelona was one of the best memories of my playing career. The club decided to trust me when I was still a young player, yet to establish myself in the top leagues. I will forever be grateful to the club for what they have done for me.

"It may be a difficult time for the club but my belief for Barcelona is strong. I will always be available for the club should they need me anytime as my heart is forever with the club, the people and the fans!"

Despite assurances from president Joan Laporta that he will not be sacked in the short term, Ronald Koeman remains under intense pressure at Camp Nou.

The Catalan giants find themselves down in ninth position in La Liga, albeit with a game in hand.
