Borussia Dortmund's Mats Hummels: "We can go very far"

Mats Hummels tips Borussia Dortmund to have a successful campaign following their 4-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach.

Borussia Dortmund captain Mats Hummels has hailed the performance that his side put in during their 4-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach on the opening weekend of the new Bundesliga season last night.

The hosts opened up a 3-0 lead in the first 45 minutes, before Henrikh Mkhitaryan completed the rout after the restart.

When asked about his team's chances of success this term, centre-back Hummels insisted that BVB "can go very far".

"We executed our game plan brilliantly. If we continue like this we can be very successful. [It's] a great start to the season - we can go very far indeed," the 26-year-old told the club's official website.

"So far everything is going very well and we want to build from this. We don't want to take anything for granted though as it is still early days."

Next up for Dortmund is a Europa League clash against Norwegian club Odd on Thursday evening.
