Baba Rahman: 'I had to take the chance to represent a top club'

New Chelsea left-back Baba Rahman insists that he could not have turned down the chance to represent a "top club" in England following his move to Stamford Bridge.

New Chelsea signing Baba Rahman has revealed that he could not turn down the opportunity to represent a "top club" in England.

The young left-back completed his move to Stamford Bridge on Sunday, and has since stated that he was at one point planning a dedicated stay with his former club Augsburg.

"I have to take this chance to play at a top club in England, although I was actually set on a long-term stay in Augsburg a year ago. I felt very comfortable in the team," said the 21-year-old, according to talkSPORT.

"I thank all those responsible, the coaches and fans of Augsburg, for their support last year."

Chelsea are yet to win in the Premier League this season after two games played.
