Liverpool's Jose Enrique 'ruled out with long-term knee injury'

Liverpool defender Jose Enrique will reportedly be sidelined for a lengthy period of time as he requires surgery on a knee injury.

Liverpool defender Jose Enrique is expected to face a lengthy period of time on the sidelines with a knee injury.

The Spaniard returned to the squad via the substitutes' bench for the Reds' 4-0 win over Fulham before the international break on November 9.

However, it is understood that Enrique will be unavailable for a number of matches as he is likely to require surgery on his knee, according to BBC Sport.

Liverpool are preparing for the first Merseyside derby of the season against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.
