Jordan Henderson sets sights on Champions League qualification for Liverpool

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson insists that the club will be looking to mount a challenge for Champions League qualification next season.

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has said that the club will be aiming to win trophies and challenge for Europe when the new Premier League campaign begins in August.

The Reds failed to mount much in the way of a title bid last season as they finished sixth, but Henderson has revealed that the club will be seeking to regain a place in the Champions League and provide more resistance on all fronts.

"Getting back into the Champions League is a big objective for us, but also winning trophies - Liverpool Football Club should be winning trophies every year," Henderson told the club's official website.

"So that's another aim for us. I think it is realistic [qualification], with the players we have got and the manager we have got, I feel that we can achieve those things.

"In the FA Cup, Europa League and League Cup, we want to be challenging and winning. And obviously in the league, we want to be right up there challenging and hopefully get into the Champions League places as well."

Brendan Rodgers has already brought in a number of new faces, including Nathaniel Clyne and Roberto Firmino, during the summer transfer window.
