Erling Braut Haaland has seemingly dropped a major hint to suggest that he will wear the number nine shirt at Manchester City, following a video which has emerged on social media.

The 21-year-old was officially unveiled as Pep Guardiola's first signing of the summer window last month, after the Citizens activated the £51m release clause in his Borussia Dortmund contract.

City supporters have since been keen to discover which shirt number the Norwegian striker will be given by the club, and it appears that he will now wear the number nine, which is now available following Gabriel Jesus's switch to Arsenal.

A video on Twitter, via @TheCitizensBR, pictures Haaland posing with a supporter while on holiday in Marbella, holding City's new home shirt with his name and new number on the back.

There has been speculation that Haaland could take the number 15 shirt number, which was worn by his father Alf-Inge Haaland when he represented City between 2000 and 2003.

However, the young striker looks set to wear the number nine, which he donned in the last two seasons at Dortmund and has previously worn for the Norwegian national team.

Haaland's teammate and fellow summer signing Kalvin Phillips has already been handed the number four shirt – famously worn by club legend Vincent Kompany – and new goalkeeper Stefan Ortega will wear the number 18, while January addition Julian Alvarez is yet to receive his number by the club.
