Nicolas Otamendi praises Manchester City's fighting spirit

Manchester City defender Nicolas Otamendi praises his side for showing their fighting spirit in their 2-1 win against Norwich City.

Manchester City defender Nicolas Otamendi was delighted that his side showed the fighting spirit required to beat Norwich City 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

The Argentine had put his side ahead but the Premier League leaders needed a late Yaya Toure penalty to save them after Cameron Jerome had equalised for the Norfolk club.

The 27-year-old admitted it was a tough game but the team got their reward for all their hard work in the second half.

The former Valencia man told reporters: "I'm really, really happy that we won this game and that we played well, and obviously I'm really pleased I scored my first goal for City.

"I heard about the 'fight to the end' spirit we have here before I arrived, but in all honesty it's just a pleasure for me to be playing for this club.

"We are a group of players who work really hard and it's true, we never give up and we got our reward for that belief."

The win keeps City at the top of the Premier League table but are only above Arsenal on goal difference.
