Manchester City sign Pablo Mari from Gimnastic Tarragona

Manchester City sign 22-year-old defender Pablo Mari from Spanish club Gimnastic Tarragona.

Manchester City have signed defender Pablo Mari from Spanish Segunda Division club Gimnastic Tarragona.

The 22-year-old, who has made 90 appearances for Gimnastic since 2013, is expected to be loaned out immediately by the Premier League outfit, according to talkSPORT.

A statement on the Spanish club's official website read: "We thank Pablo Mari for his commitment, discipline and hard work that he has contributed during these three years in the ranks of the first team.

"Gimnastic de Tarragona wishes Mari good luck on a personal and professional level in his new team, Manchester City FC."

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola and his City players are preparing for tonight's Champions League playoff first leg against Steaua Bucuresti in Romania.
