Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claims that Marcus Rashford 'could be out for a while' with a groin injury.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has claimed that Marcus Rashford 'could be out for a while' with the groin problem that he picked up against West Ham United on Sunday.

The England international was forced off in the second half of United's 2-0 defeat at the London Stadium, meaning that the Red Devils finished the game with Jesse Lingard at centre-forward.

Solskjaer has confirmed that the academy product suffered a groin injury against the Hammers, and the United manager was not optimistic when questioned on the issue after the game.

"Scan in tomorrow. He felt his groin. I think he will be out for a while," Solskjaer told reporters in the aftermath of his team's second Premier League defeat of the campaign.

Anthony Martial was already absent for the 20-time English champions through injury, while illness saw 17-year-old Mason Greenwood miss out in the English capital.

United are next in EFL Cup action against Rochdale on Wednesday night before continuing their 2019-20 Premier League campaign at home to Arsenal on September 30.
