Gareth Barry: 'Nobody fears Manchester United anymore'

Gareth Barry stokes the fires ahead of Everton's trip to Manchester United by claiming that Old Trafford is no longer a daunting trip for visiting teams.

Everton midfielder Gareth Barry has claimed that no teams fear the visit to Old Trafford any longer ahead of this afternoon's clash with Manchester United.

The Premier League giants have suffered no fewer than nine home defeats in all competitions since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.

Barry himself has been on the winning side the last three times that he has visited the Theatre of Dreams - twice with Manchester City, once with Everton - and the 33-year-old says that United away is no longer a daunting fixture.

"I think Old Trafford has lost its fear factor," he told The Mirror. "I can only speak from my own experience because it took me 12 years to win a game there.

"But since winning there 6-1 with City, it's been a good place to go. City won there again the following season and then, last year, Everton won at Old Trafford for the first time in about 21 years.

"I think that shows you that maybe Old Trafford is not what it once was."

Kickoff today is scheduled for 12pm.
