Monday's Premier League predictions including Man United vs. Newcastle

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Premier League fixtures, including Manchester United vs. Newcastle United.

Aston Villa vs. Brighton (Monday, 7.45pm)

Ninth hosts 10th in the Premier League this Monday when Brighton & Hove Albion travel north to face Aston Villa.

The visitors will be reeling from a bruising defeat on Boxing Day, while Brighton's lengthy winless run continued in frustrating fashion a day later.

We say: Aston Villa 2-1 Brighton & Hove Albion

Villa are brilliant at home and Brighton are in the middle of a slump, having gone six games without a win, so this is not the venue they would have liked to visit next, considering the hosts have only lost one in 14 at Villa Park.

Ipswich vs. Chelsea (Monday, 7.45pm)

Chelsea finish 2024 by making their first trip to Portman Road to face Ipswich Town since 2002 in the Premier League on Monday.

Neither side are making the sort of finish to the year they were hoping for, and both desperately need a win before the new year.

We say: Ipswich Town 0-3 Chelsea

Chelsea may have suffered a blip at home to Fulham on Boxing Day, but this is a very favourable fixture for them to get back on track, and keep the pressure on Liverpool at the top.

Ipswich's shortcomings are being brutally exposed, and questions are now starting to be asked about whether they are good enough to compete at this level, and another humbling home defeat in just over a week to finish 2024 will do little to suggest otherwise.

Man Utd vs. Newcastle (Monday, 8.00pm)

Manchester United will be aiming to return to winning ways when they welcome Newcastle United to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Monday night, with the Red Devils bidding to end a difficult year on a positive note.

The Red Devils, who are 14th in the Premier League table, will enter the contest off the back of a 2-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers, while fifth-placed Newcastle were 3-0 winners over Aston Villa at St James' Park last time out.

We say: Manchester United 2-2 Newcastle United

Man United can lean on a strong home record against Newcastle, and it would not be a shock to see the Red Devils win on Monday evening, as they are due a strong performance. Newcastle are in excellent form, though, and we are expecting the Magpies to be good enough for at least a point in their final match of 2024.
