Everton are reportedly interested in bringing Manchester United's Anthony Elanga to Goodison Park, after announcing Ashley Young as their first signing of the summer.

Everton have reportedly stated their interest in Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga.

Elanga barely featured in the second half of the season under Erik ten Hag, but continued to show promising signs for the Sweden national side.

The 21-year-old has netted against both Azerbaijan and New Zealand so far 2023 - his only goals of the year - as he did not feature in the Premier League at all since being an 84th-minute substitute in United's 7-0 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool.

After Mason Mount's arrival at Old Trafford, that will only knock Elanga further down the pecking order, so United look set to cash in on the young Swede.

Everton tried to sign Elanga on loan in January, but Ten Hag blocked the deal due to the perceived toxic atmosphere that surrounded the club at the time, with frequent fan protests against the board making headlines.

However, BBC Sport claims that Everton are to reignite their interest with Elanga available for around £15m to 20m.

James Garner made the same move last summer, and United allowed Everton to pay in installments, and that could help make a deal for Elanga become more realistic for the Toffees who are still under tight financial restraints.

Everton have also been strongly linked with a move for Wilfried Gnonto in the past week, but Elanga's lower price tag may be more attractive to Everton.

Reports state that Gnonto has been valued at around £19m by Leeds United, after contributing to eight goals in his debut season in England.

It would represent an impressive profit for Leeds, after they bought him from Zurich for just £3m last summer.

The 19-year-old's blistering impact in the side was not enough to stave off relegation though, but Gnonto remains a regular Italy international and featured in the Azzurri's Nations League third-place playoff with the Dutch last month.

Links to these wide players comes as news circulates that Everton will listen to offers for Demarai Gray this summer.

Recent claims from the Daily Mail say that Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia are interested in the 27-year-old, after Crystal Palace were also believed to be in talks.

Gray recently switched allegiances to Jamaica and played a key role in the Reggae Boyz reaching the semi-finals of the Gold Cup in the past few weeks.

At the finals, Gray scored twice and assisted a further two goals in their run through the tournament, before succumbing to Mexico.

Since Sean Dyche took over at Everton, Gray was in and out of the starting lineup, with Dwight McNeil preferred in his natural left-wing position.

Gray was often utilised as second-choice striker though in Dominic Calvert-Lewin's absence, and started in the final-day escape against Bournemouth last season.

After joining for just £1.7m in 2021, like Leeds with Gnonto, Everton could make a big profit on their wide man, and they will need the money to reinvest, given that free agent Ashley Young has been their only signing so far this summer.
