Report: Phil Jones heading for Manchester United exit

A report claims that Manchester United will allow Phil Jones to leave in the January transfer window, which has attracted the attention of Arsenal and Liverpool.

Phil Jones will reportedly be allowed to leave Manchester United in the January transfer window.

Man United beat off a host of competition to bring Jones to Old Trafford in 2011, and the centre-back made 41 appearances for the Red Devils during his first season at the club.

The England international was also a regular between 2012 and 2014, but made only 13 appearances in all competitions last term after struggling to overcome a number of injury problems.

The 24-year-old is once again on the sidelines with a knee ligament problem, and according to The Sun, Man United will allow the defender to leave for £10m in January, which has alerted both Arsenal and Liverpool.

In 2013, then Man United boss Sir Alex Ferguson famously said that Jones 'could be Manchester United's best ever player'.
