Tuesday's Nations League predictions including Scotland vs. Portugal

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Nations League fixtures, including Scotland vs. Portugal.

Poland vs. Croatia (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Separated by just one place and three points in the League A Group 1 rankings in the UEFA Nations League, Poland and Croatia pit their wits against one another in Warsaw on Tuesday.

The hosts were conquered 3-1 by group leaders Portugal on matchday three, while the 2018 World Cup finalists came from behind to sink Scotland 2-1 and remain in control of their knockout destiny.

We say: Poland 1-1 Croatia

Lewandowski cannot do it all on his own for Poland, who have failed to pull up trees for a number of months now, although Croatia were fortunate to come away with all of the spoils against Scotland.

While the visitors may just edge it on paper, it would not be surprising to see a low-scoring stalemate in Warsaw, as both sides remain firmly in contention for a coveted top-two placement.

Scotland vs. Portugal (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

On the brink of qualifying for the quarter-finals of the UEFA Nations League, Portugal head to Hampden Park for a date with Scotland in League A Group 1 on Tuesday.

Roberto Martinez's team overcame Poland 3-1 at the weekend to remain perfect in the 2024-25 edition, while their hosts put in a valiant effort against Croatia but ultimately fell to a 2-1 defeat.

We say: Scotland 1-2 Portugal

All three of Scotland's losses thus far in League A have been by just the one goal, but unfortunately for Clarke's men, we can envisage that exact same scenario unfolding at Hampden Park.

While fatigue may come into play for both sides, Portugal's options for change off the bench are much more menacing, and the Selecao should march to the win that will more than likely punch their ticket to the quarters.

Spain vs. Serbia (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Spain will be aiming to cement their spot at the top of Group 4 in League A when they continue their 2024-25 UEFA Nations League campaign at home to Serbia on Tuesday night.

Luis de la Fuente's side will enter the contest off the back of a 1-0 success over Denmark, while Serbia recorded an eye-catching 2-0 victory over Switzerland last time out to move onto four points in the section.

We say: Spain 2-1 Serbia

This has the potential to be a very tricky match for Spain, as Serbia can be a tough nut to crack, and the hosts will be missing a number of important players. It would not be a surprise to see a draw here, but we just have a feeling that De la Fuente's side will be able to navigate their way to a huge three points.

Switzerland vs. Denmark (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Both Switzerland and Denmark will be aiming to bounce back from defeats in Group 4 of League A when they lock horns in the UEFA Nations League on Tuesday night.

Switzerland, who are bottom of the section, were on the end of a 2-0 defeat to Serbia on Saturday, while second-placed Denmark conceded late to suffer a 1-0 loss to European champions Spain.

We say: Switzerland 1-1 Denmark

Four of the last seven meetings between these two sides have finished level, and we can see another stalemate on Tuesday night. Both will fancy their chances of triumphing in this contest, but we are expecting a tight game to finish all square.

Kosovo vs. Cyprus (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Continuing their pursuit of promotion in the UEFA Nations League, Kosovo and Cyprus meet at Pristina City Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Separated by three points in the League C Group 2 standings, the hosts sit second after winning at the weekend, while their visitors trail behind following a heavy home defeat.

We say: Kosovo 2-0 Cyprus

Not only do Cyprus have a terrible record against their Kosovan counterparts, but they are also on a clear downward spiral.

Even in their star striker's absence, the hosts have momentum on their side and should beat opponents who routinely struggle to keep the back door shut.

Lithuania vs. Romania (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Having stormed clear at the top of League C Group 2, leaders Romania will visit last-placed Lithuania in the UEFA Nations League on Tuesday.

The Tricolorii head to Kaunas fresh from a third straight win, while their rock-bottom hosts have yet to pick up a single point.

We say: Lithuania 0-2 Romania

A class above their opponents at League C level, an ascendant Romania side should prolong their 100% record at Lithuania's expense.

While the visitors may be bound for League B when the group phase wraps up next month, their ailing hosts are set to stay pointless with just two games to go.

Belarus vs. Luxembourg (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

After both played out goalless draws at the weekend, top and bottom in League C Group 3 will meet on Tuesday, as Belarus tackle Luxembourg in the UEFA Nations League.

The 'home' side - currently hosting their games behind closed doors in Hungary - are occupying a promotion place at the halfway stage; meanwhile, their visitors have just one point on the board and are yet to score a single goal.

We say: Belarus 1-1 Luxembourg

A low-scoring encounter is surely in store, as the two teams have managed just one goal between them at the midpoint of their Group 3 campaigns.

Luxembourg are lacking confidence in the final third, while Belarus can be tough to break down, so the points will be shared at a near-empty ZTE Arena.

N. Ireland vs. Bulgaria (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Northern Ireland head coach Michael O'Neill on March 26, 2024© Imago

Still in the mix for automatic promotion in the UEFA Nations League, Northern Ireland will look to kick-start their campaign when Bulgaria arrive in Belfast on Tuesday.

Despite failing to win since the opening matchday, the hosts sit just one point shy of top spot in League C Group 3, while their visitors are also well-placed to finish first.

We say: Northern Ireland 1-1 Bulgaria

In a tightly contested group, with few goals and few wins, it could be another share of the spoils on Tuesday evening, as Bulgaria are particularly hard to beat.

Northern Ireland are certainly showing signs of improvement, but without a clinical finisher they may have to settle for a home draw.
