Port Vale unhappy with lack of decisions going in their favour

Vale are embroiled in a relegation battle in League Two.

Port Vale have highlighted another perceived injustice after believing they had a goal incorrectly ruled out for offside in last Saturday's loss at Cheltenham.

Vale say video footage shows a David Worrall goal was erroneously erased by the match officials, led by referee Nicholas Kinseley, and they will report the incident to the Match Official Administration System (MOAS).

Vale say they have already received apologies and admissions over six incorrect decisions which went against them this season, in a statement issued under the instruction of chief executive Colin Garlick.

The Vale statement read: "So far this season, Port Vale have had confirmed from MOAS that several key decisions have gone against the club during matches.

"This has ranged from penalties awarded against us and penalties wrongfully not awarded in favour of us.

"Throughout campaigns including the current one, the club has offered constructive feedback to MOAS in response to decisions made in various situations including the above, in order to help improve the performances of all match officials.

"The situation now with regards to the Cheltenham game is no different to that which occurs after every game where reports are submitted by clubs on the match officials.

"The club takes these matters extremely seriously and treat accordingly."

Vale are in a perilous position near the bottom of the English Football League.

The Valiants are 22nd in League Two, three points above Macclesfield and five ahead of Notts County, who occupy the two relegation places.

Four of the decisions questioned by Vale were when they were denied penalties, one for a penalty given against them and one for a goal against them from an offside position.
