Bookmakers begin to give larger odds on Paolo Di Canio being given the managerial job at Reading.

The odds of Paolo Di Canio being appointed the new manager of Reading have lengthened over the last few hours.

The 44-year-old began the day as the clear odds-on favourite to replace Brian McDermott, who was sacked on Monday afternoon.

However, the former Swindon Town boss is now the third favourite, with most bookmakers now prepared to give odds of around 3-1 that he will take charge at the Madejski Stadium.

Nigel Adkins and Roberto Di Matteo, both of whom are currently out of work, have moved ahead of Di Canio in the betting markets.
