Jonathan Bond enjoying Watford development

Rising goalkeeper Jonathan Bond insists that he is enjoying his time developing alongside the experienced Heurelho Gomes at Watford.

Watford goalkeeping prospect Jonathan Bond has said that he is enjoying his time developing at Vicarage Road.

The 21-year-old has already made clear his intentions to one day become the number one keeper for the Hornets, but has also stated that he is making full use of the experience provided by current first-choice stopper Heurelho Gomes.

"It seems ever since I turned professional at Watford I've always had great goalkeepers in front of me to learn from," said Bond, according to the FA's official website.

"At first Scott Loach was in the team and I was learning lots from him, but when the Pozzos took over the club and Manuel Almunia came in he was, to me, a real big name goalkeeper.

"This year, with Heurelho Gomes coming in, that learning curve has just continued and continued. He's very strong in the air, so I've learned a lot about dealing with crosses and starting positions from him."

Slavisa Jokanovic's side currently hold third spot in the Championship standings.
