Lewis Hamilton has ensured that the Formula 1 championship will go to the final race after keeping his hopes alive with victory in a dramatic Brazilian Grand Prix this evening.
Hamilton went into the race knowing that victory for Nico Rosberg would clinch the title for his German teammate, but the Brit picked up his first ever triumph in Brazil to set up a decider in Abu Dhabi.
Interlagos becomes the 24th different circuit that Hamilton has won at, surpassing Michael Schumacher for the most in Formula 1 history.
The race was not without incident, however, as the wet conditions resulted in five safety cars, two red flags and the race being suspended on two occasions.
Rosberg came home in second place as his lead was cut to 12 points heading into the final race of the season, while Red Bull's Max Verstappen completed the podium following a memorable performance.
Rosberg will still clinch the title if he finishes third or better in Abu Dhabi, while Hamilton needs to win the race and hope Rosberg fails to make the podium if he is to retain the title.
