Henrik Stenson has won his first Major courtesy of a three-shot victory over Phil Mickelson in The Open at Royal Troon.
The duo had established a personal duel for the title going into the final day, and both went toe to toe throughout the contest before Stenson came out on top in style.
The Swede, who becomes the oldest first-time Major winner since 2011, finished on 20-under for the tournament courtesy of a final round of 63, falling just short of becoming the first player to ever shoot a 62 in a Major.
However, his final score of 20-under was the lowest ever at The Open as he wrote his name into the history books, as well as onto the Claret Jug.
Mickelson could not keep pace on the back nine as Stenson avoided any slip-ups, with the American eventually finishing three shots behind.
Compatriots JB Holmes and Steve Stricker finished third and fourth respectively, although they never challenged the runaway leaders at Royal Troon.
Rory McIlroy was one of three players to finish joint-fifth on four-under, while defending champion Zach Johnson carded a final round of 71 to finish in 12th.
