American duo Jordan Spieth and Dustin Johnson have both carded low scores in the first round of The Open at St Andrews.
World number two Spieth, who is trying to win his third straight Major, posted a five-under-par 67, while playing partner Johnson has the early lead thanks to a 65.

Spieth made a fine start on the Old Course with a birdie-birdie opening two holes before reaching the 12th tee in a tie for the lead on six-under.
Bogeys on 13 and 17 followed to see him drop three shots off the pace, but a long birdie putt at the last saw him get back to five-under.
Meanwhile, Johnson, who three-putted the final hole at Chambers Bay last month to gift Spieth the US Open, produced the third bogey-free round of his career in a Major.
The big-hitter went out in 31 with three birdies and an eagle on the fifth before coming home in 34 with birdies at the 10th and 14th.
Johnson is one shot ahead of previous clubhouse leaders Robert Streb and Retief Goosen.
