Stephen Gallacher could not make home advantage count during his Ryder Cup singles clash with Phil Mickelson at Gleneagles this afternoon.
The two players were evenly matched during the first 14 holes, with both winning three apiece, while the others were halved.
However, the encounter swung Mickelson's way on the 15th and 16th holes courtesy of two birdies, while in response, Gallacher could only par those holes.
The Scot's first dropped shot of the round came at the 17th and with Mickelson having birded, the veteran USA team member had secured a point for his side thanks to a 3&1 victory.
