Hideki Matsuyama has revealed that he is delighted to have secured his first win on the PGA Tour after winning the Memorial Tournament.
The 22-year-old edged out Kevin Na in a playoff on the 18th to become just the fourth Japanese player to win a PGA Tour event.
"To win my first PGA Tour event is enough," Matsuyama told ESPN. "But to win it here at Mr. Nicklaus' course, it really gives me a lot of confidence now going on.
"And hopefully, I'll be able to use this week as a stepping stone to further my career."
Matsuyama is currently ranked 24th in the world.
