The 2015 British Open will be held at the St Andrews course in Scotland, golf's governing body R&A have confirmed.
The announcement will mean that the Old Course has hosted the event a record 29 times.
"St Andrews has proved time and again that it is perfectly equipped to host The Open and I am certain we will yet again see a worthy winner lift the claret jug," said R&A chief executive Peter Dawson.
"Players, spectators and officials alike will welcome a return to the game's spiritual home and I fully expect that we will witness another thrilling championship."
St Andrews will host the competition between July 16 and 19, 2015.
