Nine-time Major winner Gary Player has said that Rory McIlroy will win either the US Open or The Open this year.
McIlroy finished the first round at Chambers Bay seven points off the lead at +2, but Player believes that he will find his form and win a Grand Slam.
"I think Rory will either win the US Open or The Open here [in St Andrews]," Player told the Daily Record.
"This and The Masters are made for Rory. I think Rory will win the Grand Slam because Augusta just is made for him, as is St Andrews, to draw the ball and hit it a long way."
Player was speaking in aid of the Grand Day Out Gala Dinner at the Old Course.
