Luke Whitehouse, Rhys McClenaghan scoop gold medals at European Championships
Great Britain's Luke Whitehouse wins the men's floor title at the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships, while Ireland's Rhys McClenaghan takes gold on pommel horse.

Great Britain's Luke Whitehouse and Ireland's Rhys McClenaghan both took home gold medals on day five of the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Turkey.

Whitehouse became continental champion in the men's floor exercise with a total of 14.900, while McClenaghan won his second European title on the pommel horse with 14.666 on the board.

Whitehouse stunned the Antalya crowd with a triple back somersault on his opening tumble, which contributed to the day's highest difficulty value of 6.500.

Israel's Artem Dolgopyat (14.666) and Germany's Milan Hosseini (14.200) won silver and bronze respectively, with the latter edging out GB's Harry Hepworth - who finished with an identical score - courtesy of his superior execution.

Meanwhile, McClenaghan - the reigning world champion on pommel horse - added to his European crown from 2018, finishing 0.100 better off than Belgium's Maxime Gentges (14.566), as Armenian veteran Artur Davtyan (14.266) finished third.

Elsewhere, Becky Downie marked her international comeback with a silver in the women's uneven bars, scoring 14.233 after landing her full-twisting dismount without a single step.

Italy's Alice D'Amato won the gold with 14.466 on the board, while Downie's higher difficulty score saw her pip German bronze medallist Elisabeth Seitz (14.200) to second place.

Finally, Courtney Tulloch placed sixth in the rings final with a score of 14.466, as all-around champion Adem Asil took home the title, and France's Coline Devillard was crowned women's vault champion with an average of 13.800.
