Scotland's Sarah Clark is hopeful that her gold medal success in the Commonwealth Games can be among the catalysts to spark a golden generation for judo in the coming years.
The 36-year-old beat Helene Wezeu Dombeu of Cameroon on Friday to pick up the host nation's third gold of the Games in judo alone.
"At grass roots there has been a surge of interest in the sport and that has made judo more appealing," she told BBC Sport.
"Hopefully in 10-15 years we will reap the benefits of that and see more people on the podium in Olympic, Commonwealth, European and World Championships."
Clark's success on the mat follows that of sisters Kimberley and Louise Renicks, who both became Commonwealth champions on Thursday.
