A host of Los Angeles Galaxy supporters have already warmed to new signing Steven Gerrard after he bought them crates of beer to celebrate Independence Day on July 4.
The former Liverpool captain is yet to play a game for the MLS side, but he was officially unveiled by the club on Saturday.
The 35-year-old midfielder greeted a stadium of fans at the StubHub Centre during half time of the Galaxy's 4-0 win over Toronto.
Prior to the game, Gerrard sent three of the club's main supporters' groups crates of beer to celebrate the holiday weekend.
In a letter posted by LA Riot Squad, Gerrard wrote: "Even though I've yet to wear an LA Galaxy jersey, I am excited for the opportunity to play in front of LARS and earn your respect.
"Supporters are the lifeblood of any club and I know that with your support we'll challenge for MLS Cup again. As a token of my appreciation for what you do for the club, I wanted to provide you with the refreshments for the 4th of July."
Gerrard is likely to make his debut against San Jose Earthquakes on July 17.
