Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has been given subtitles in the club's all-access TV documentary Being: Liverpool.
The programme's American producers opted to subtitle the Merseyside-born centre-back, who is filmed being interviewed with his son at the club's training ground in one episode, in order for television audiences in the United States to understand his words.
"He does have a strong accent but some of the other lads have strong accents too," The Sun quotes a spokesman from Channel 5, who are currently airing the show in the UK, as saying.
"The subtitles will be left in because we broadcast the show in the same format as in the US."
Carragher's teammate and fellow scouser Steven Gerrard has also been interviewed in the documentary but did not require subtitles.
