Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has been named the richest English-born player in the Premier League.
The 28-year-old has topped the poll conducted by Wealth-X due to his estimated worth of £45m, which is an accumulation of his reported £250,000-a-week wages and endorsement deals with Nike and book publisher HarperCollins.
Rooney's teammate Rio Ferdinand has come second in the list with a worth of £37m, while Chelsea and England midfielder Frank Lampard is the third-richest player with a fortune of £31m.
John Terry, Steven Gerrard, Joe Cole, Ashley Cole, Michael Carrick, Ashley Young and James Milner make up the remainder of the top 10 list.
