A Millwall supporter has been banned from attending matches for five years after pleading guilty to racist abuse.

Gerrard Scanlon, of Enfield, was charged with a racially aggravated public order offence when he was caught on camera by Sky Sports News abusing Leeds United forward El Hadji Diouf during a match back in November.

The 53-year-old admitted the charge and was swiftly issued with a five-year ban by the Championship outfit.

Scanlon was arrested following the TV report made by the sports channel.
