Former boxer Chris Eubank 'tried to talk down suicidal man before he jumped'

Former boxer Chris Eubank reportedly tried to talk down a suicidal man before he jumped to his death from a motorway.

Former boxer Chris Eubank reportedly tried to talk down a suicidal man who then jumped to his death from a motorway bridge in Pease Pottage last year.

The three-time world middleweight champion spotted 46-year-old Louis Perrina standing on the wrong side of the bridge's safety barrier over the M23 on November 13.

West Sussex coroner heard that Eubank approached the man and asked if he was South African before being escorted away by police once he informed them that he did not know the troubled individual, according to the Daily Star.

A few hours after the hearing at County Hall North in Horsham on Wednesday, Eubank tweeted: "Take time today 2 appreciate someone who does something u take 4 granted. Time has a wonderful way of showing us what and who really matters."

The inquest heard that Mr Perrina calmly told police officers "I'm going to go now, I'm going to fall down" before dropping to his death.
