Paris Saint-Germain midfielder David Beckham has been named the world's richest football over the likes of La Liga stars Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 37-year-old, who is worth £60m more than the Ballon d'Or winner, has raked in £20m from endorsements and wages last year to give him a £175m fortune, according to The Goal Rich List 2013.

"The world's top footballers are major international brands and David Beckham is the biggest brand of them all," the Daily Star quotes managing editor of Goal Europe Amar Singh as saying.

Ronaldo sits in third place with a fortune of £112m.
